The Cockatoo is a one-bedroom, one-bath yurt for two guests, tucked into the trees at River Yurt Village along the Medina River.
Inside
An open concept with high ceilings and natural light through the wood frame. A queen bed with a sound machine and plenty of storage, and a double recliner facing the smart TV — streaming only, bring your own account. All linens and pillows provided. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate sink area, with towels and rags supplied.
The kitchenette
Galanz retro refrigerator and freezer, Nostalgia retro microwave, toaster, toaster oven, double-skillet portable cooktop, and a Keurig with starter pods, sweetener and creamer, plus utensils, cups, wine glasses, plates and cookware. A breakfast table for two.
Outside
Step out under the large palapa-covered porch to wicker hanging swings and Adirondack bar stools. String lights make the patio comfortable after dark, whether you are in the hot tub or just taking in the trees.
The Argentine gaucho grill is a conversation starter and sure to impress. Cook under the stars beneath oak, pecan, cypress, mulberry and cedar.

One block off Main Street in Bandera
River Yurt Village sits on 21 acres at 1627 Texas Highway 16 N, Bandera, TX 78003 — one block from Main Street, a quarter mile past the Beverage Barn. Walk to the shops, restaurants and live music of the Cowboy Capital of the World, then walk back to your own hot tub.
Steps lead down through the cypress to the Medina River for swimming, kayaking and fishing. The yurts have river access; the river views belong to the RV sites.
