Hill Country wedding venues are mostly open-air barns and pavilions. Ours is too — and then there's this: a newly built hall, fully enclosed, with real air conditioning. Your grandmother sits comfortably in August. Your rehearsal dinner happens indoors in February. The band's gear stays out of the weather.

The hall is semi-attached to the pavilion, and a covered walkway connects the two along with the catering kitchen, so guests, plates and vendors move between spaces without stepping into the rain or the heat.

The Day Itself

What the evening feels like inside the hall

The hall sits on 21 acres along the Medina River in Bandera, Texas, a few steps from the covered 40' x 60' pavilion that seats up to 150 guests. Guests come up the gravel path through the timber entry arbor, past the oak grove, and in through the doors. The ceiling is pine, the light comes from chandeliers and warm string lights, and there are stained glass windows along the wall behind the head table.

Round tables in the centre, a long skirted head table at the end, buffet tables lined along the wall — that is how most couples use the room, and it is what the photographs below show. Because the room is enclosed, the sound stays in it: toasts land without a PA fight, and the band is not competing with wind through an open barn.

The practical part guests notice without saying it is the temperature. They sit down at dinner and stay sat down. Nobody drifts to the car for the air conditioning, and nobody leaves after the first course because it is 98 degrees under a metal roof.

How It Connects

The hall is semi-attached to the pavilion, and a covered walkway of cedar posts and railings links the two along with the catering kitchen. That single detail shapes the whole evening. Your ceremony happens under the pavilion roof, and when it ends your guests walk twenty steps under cover into a cool room — no shuttle, no umbrellas, no scattering across a field.

It also gives you a second room to work with all night. Couples put dinner indoors and dancing out under the string lights, or run the whole reception in the pavilion and keep the hall as the cool room where grandparents sit, the cake waits and the wedding party gets out of the heat between photographs. On a February rehearsal dinner the hall is simply the warm room instead.

For Your Vendors

Prep space, access and load-in

You bring your own caterer, florist, DJ or band and photographer. The catering kitchen is attached to the hall by the same covered walkway, so plating and service happen next door to the tables rather than out of a tent. Caterers get a real prep space instead of a folding table under a canopy, and the walkway keeps food and staff out of the weather from kitchen to guest.

The gravel drive runs up to the venue area for load-in and load-out. What vendors normally want confirmed is parking and unloading, the power available at their station, and how long they have on site either side of the event — all of which depend on your date and layout. Is it really air-conditioned? Yes — fully enclosed with real air conditioning and heat, not fans or misters. It is comfortable in any Texas season.

Can we use the hall and the pavilion? Yes. Both spaces, the catering kitchen and the covered walkway come together, along with the run of all 21 acres.

Where do our guests sleep? On site. Nine luxury yurts sleep up to 40 guests between them, each with a private cedar hot tub, an Argentine gaucho grill, air conditioning and heat, and all linens, pillows and towels provided. Most wedding parties take the whole village for two nights.
