Staying at River Yurt Village
What exactly is a yurt at River Yurt Village?
A round, canvas-walled cabin raised on a cedar deck — not a tent. Each of our nine yurts is fully enclosed and air-conditioned, with a real bed and linens, a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a kitchenette, and a lattice wall and timber crown ring you can see from the bed. Outside, every yurt has its own cedar hot tub, gaucho grill, fire pit and gazebo.
Where is the property, and what's nearby?
We're on 21 acres along the Medina River, one block off Main Street in Bandera, Texas — the Cowboy Capital of the World, a quarter mile past the Beverage Barn. The Hill Country State Natural Area is west of town.
Which yurt should we book?
It depends on your group. Peacock, Cockatoo, Canary and King Fisher sleep two and are built for couples. Love Bird sleeps four. Blue Jay, Mockingbird, Hoot Owl and Mourning Dove are family yurts that sleep seven with a master bed, bunk beds and a queen sleeper sofa. You can compare all nine side by side on our yurts page.
Can we book several yurts for a group?
Yes. Groups regularly take multiple yurts, and the whole village of nine sleeps up to 40 guests. For a full-property booking, a reunion or a wedding weekend, call us at (726) 238-8188 and we'll arrange it together.
Is the property open year-round?
Yes. Every yurt is heated and air-conditioned, so spring wildflowers, summer river days, autumn evenings by the fire pit and cool winter hot-tub nights all work.
Do you host weddings and events?
We do. Our covered pavilion seats up to 150 guests, and the enclosed, air-conditioned reception hall holds up to 175 guests indoors, with a catering kitchen and a covered walkway to the pavilion. The reception hall is a $1,500 upgrade. All nine yurts are included with our Signature package — lodging for up to 40 guests on site. The pavilion and reception hall are complete and booking now. What does a wedding cost at River Yurt Village?
Our Intimate package starts at $3,500 and our Signature Celebration package starts at $6,500. Both require a $1,000 refundable security deposit. The enclosed, air-conditioned reception hall is a $1,500 upgrade. Call Melissa at (726) 238-8188 for add-on pricing and availability.
Arrival, pets and parking
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Yurt checkout is by 11am. Check-in time is listed on your Airbnb booking confirmation. If you need an early check-in or late check-out, call us at (726) 238-8188 and we'll do what we can.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes — dogs under 35 lb are welcome, and they must be leashed any time they're outside the yurt. RV park guests sign a pet waiver. Call (726) 238-8188 with questions about bringing a pet.

Inside the yurts
Are the hot tubs private?
Yes. Every yurt has its own private cedar hot tub in a gazebo beside the yurt.
Is there cable TV?
No. Each yurt has a smart TV for streaming over our WiFi, so bring your own Netflix, Disney+ or other account and sign in.
What's provided in the yurt?
All linens and pillows are provided, along with all towels and wash rags, a Keurig coffee maker with starter pods, kitchenette basics, and a variety of card games for family fun night. You bring food, drinks and your streaming logins.
The river
Do the yurts have river views?
The yurts have river access, not river views — they sit among the oaks and pecans a short walk from the water, down a set of wooden stairs to the Medina River swimming hole. If you want to look at the river from your site, book a riverfront RV site instead; those have direct river frontage.
Can we swim or float the Medina River?
Yes. Guests can embark on a kayaking or tubing adventure down the gentle currents of the pristine crystal-clear Medina River, and the swimming hole is a short walk from the yurts. The river is natural and unsupervised, so children should always be watched.
RVs
What's the difference between the RV sites and the yurts?
The yurts are fully furnished lodging you book like a room. The RV sites are 40'x90' riverfront pads with full hookups where you bring your own rig. We do not rent RVs — if you don't own or tow one, book a yurt.
Can I park my RV next to a yurt?
Yes, at Hoot Owl and Mourning Dove, which have a 30/50 amp electric hookup beside the yurt. That hookup is electric only — there is no water or sewer connection at the yurts. If you need full hookups, book a site in the riverfront RV park.
What does the riverfront RV park include?
17 oversized 40'x90' sites with full hookups and 30/50 amp service, shaded by giant pecans with direct frontage on the Medina River. Daily and monthly rates are listed on the RV park page along with our park policies.
